Ramadan Kareem!

The blessed month of Ramadan began on Monday 11th March this year, or if you go by the Islamic Lunar calendar (Hijri calendar) 1st Ramadan 1445 AH.

Every year, approximately 1.8 billion+ Muslims around the world celebrate this month of Ramadan by participating in 29-30 days of fasting from the break of dawn until sunset. In these daylight hours, adult Muslims who are physically able, refrain from eating or drinking, sexual activity, backbiting, bad thoughts and temptations. This act of physical and mental self-discipline cleanses the body and soul, increasing the spiritual connection with our Creator. Muslims believe there is only One God to exist and in Arabic, Allah means God. Fasting in Ramadan is one of the 5 fundamental pillars of Islam which Muslims follow as it was revealed in the Qur’an by Allah.

This year, Planet Friendly Paint would like to invite you to learn about Ramadan with us using our 30-day Ramadan Painting Challenge! This launched with our Ramadan Watercolour Countdown Calendar, where under each door, you will find a different upcycled watercolour paint to create your next masterpiece! But even if you don’t get your hands on one, you can still take part by using the prompts to paint in your style and tag us in socials so we can see your beautiful work and share it with the community :)
